Women's rugby league

24 February 2017

Today we received a visit from three star women’s rugby league players who came to the school to share their knowledge, expertise and experiences in rugby league. Australian Jillaroo Players Annette Brander and Chelsea Baker were joined by Indigenous All Stars representative Sarah Field and NRL Game Development Officer Dominic Draper. The girls are in town to help promote women and girls Rugby League and in particular the Karyn Murphy Cup which is a state wide schools competition. This was a great opportunity for our NRSHS girls to meet successful Jillaroos players and try the skills of Rugby League. Around 45 girls participated in skills and training and a lot of fun was had by all. Training for our girls rugby league teams will continue throughout the rest of the term with dates yet to be determined. The Karyn Murphy Cup takes place on the first week back in Term-2. Full details will be out soon. Check out the album under photos of the girls in action!
