State Honours Ensemble Program


​North Rockhampton High will host the State Honours Ensemble Programs; SHEP Capricornia and Middle School SHEP which are Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University projects, to give young musicians around the state the opportunity to work with staff from the conservatorium, over two weekends in March.

Presented by Open Conservatorium these programs give 280 secondary and middle school students from 44 schools the opportunity to participate in two and a half days of intensive music-making, culminating in concerts on the Sunday of each program.

SHEP Capricornia for students in years 7 to 12, will be from Friday March 10 to Sunday March 12 and will feature 8 North Rockhampton High students. Seong Choi, Sarah Coker and Steven Kyriazis on violin, Jack Coote on viola, Felicity Finlayson on double bass, Alicia Kyriazis on alto saxophone, Leala Millhouse on baritone saxophone and Matthew Sulman on euphonium.

SHEP Middle School - Rockhampton for students in years 5 to 9, will be from Friday March 24 to Sunday March 26 and will feature 5 North Rockhampton High students. Sian Zahner and Rogan Brettle on violin, Tyler Schmidt on viola, Brianna Bloomfield on trumpet and Jared Bruckner on euphonium.
