State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP)

North Rockhampton High will host the State Honours Ensemble Programs; SHEP Capricornia and Middle School SHEP which are Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University projects, to give young musicians around the state the opportunity to work with staff from the conservatorium, over two weekends in March.

Presented by Open Conservatorium these programs give 250 secondary and middle school students from 48 schools the opportunity to participate in two and a half days of intensive music-making, culminating in concerts on the Sunday of each program.

SHEP Capricornia for students in years 7 to 12, will be from Friday March 11 to Sunday March 13 and will feature 5 North Rockhampton High students. Sarah Coker and Steven Kyriazis on violin, Nikita Nunn on cello, Felicity Finlayson on clarinet and Tyler Kennedy on Tenor Saxophone.

SHEP Middle School - Rockhampton for students in years 5 to 9, will be from Friday March 18 to Sunday March 20 and will feature 2 North Rockhampton High students. Sian Zahner on violin and Jack Coote on Viola.
