Library news

Barbara May (Teacher/Librarian) hosted a QSLA (Queensland School Library Association) meeting in the Trade Centre on Wednesday 17th June 2015.

Librarians from various other Rockhampton schools attended and were treated to a delicious afternoon tea provided by Mrs Gaye Sands and her staff. Those who attended were very impressed with the trade centre facilities and agreed the food was worth coming back for.

QSLA members meet regularly for business, sharing of ideas and providing professional development activities.

Library hubs are important to student education as they provide a place of learning, lunch time activities, a meeting place and many other resources.  Information is the foundation of all education, and therefore libraries play a pivotal role within Queensland schools.
