Alexis Kearney

17/02/2014

The SUN Program is a CQUniversity initiative that allows students in Year 11 and 12 to study CQUniversity courses whilst still in high school. At North Rockhampton State High School we encourage our students to take up this wonderful opportunity.

One such student is Alexis Kearney – this is her story.

My name is Alexis Kearney and I am in year 12. Along with the normal school load I am also attending CQ University through the SUN Program for a Nursing Degree.

I started 1st term last year and I have so far completed 2 courses towards my degree. This year I will be doing another two courses.

The SUN Program is an amazing opportunity to get into University as all the courses are free and the courses you do while in school, you don’t have to do once you leave school.

Also, as long as you are at least passing your Uni courses, you have guaranteed access into CQU for any degree once you graduate year 12, no matter what OP score you get.

It is a fun program that will set the path to your future career and I would recommend it to everyone.

You can have a look at what is on offer at this web site.
