Social Science Faculty
The Social Sciences start with Study of Society and Environment and articulate into traditional senior subjects, such as History, Geography, Economics and our new Authority Tourism program. We also have our multi award-winning VET Certificate II and III Tourism programs. There is a heavy emphasis in most of these subjects on learning outside the classroom in the environment or industry. We are primarily responsible for educating for citizenship, democratic values and multi-cultural traditions.
By the end of Semester 1 Yr 8 all students have completed 1 term. All students must complete a minimum of another 2 semesters, either (Yr 8 Semester 2, Yr 9 Semester 3) or (Yr 9 Semester 4, Yr 10 Semester 5) but may also choose 4 semesters. Students intending to do a Senior Social Science will do a preparation semester, (Yr 10 Semester 6).
