INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FACULTY
Information Technology (IT) refers to the creation, manipulation, storage, retrieval and communication of information and to the range of technological devices and systems. Studying any IT subject should prove especially relevant to students by helping them cope with the rapid rate of change associated with IT and to appreciate its advantages and disadvantages.
The IT Faculty offers students from Years 8 – 12 the opportunity study Information Technology, with senior subjects offering a choice of three subjects, which enables students to choose the course best suited to their interests and abilities. Whether students are aiming for a career in the Information Technology industry or another career, a study in Information Technology will form an important part of their overall education.
IT teaching staff at NRSHS regularly attend professional development to maintain the currency of their IT skills, essential in a subject area which is constantly changing. Students who study Information Technology will enter the workforce with a sound knowledge of current IT practices and industry standard software.
The IT Faculty also manages the curriculum network, regularly upgrading the network infrastructure, computers and software, and keeping everything up and running.

Information Technology News:
NRSHS is committed to providing the best network available, within the limits of our school budget.
The Managed Operating Environment was installed in September and we are now able to access One School (which provides more flexible staff access to student reporting, behaviour management records etc).
All NRSHS staff will receive their Computers for Teachers by the end of 2008.
We are awaiting the results of our grant application for commonwealth funding, which (if successful) will see a significant increase in student access to computers in 2009.
